Bueno and Corona lead Mexico to a smooth victory in U-20 WCQ (Cuartoscuro)

 

  • Updates on the Gold cup: Mexico will kickoff their quest be champion in Pasadena, California (Rose Bowl). Moreover, the final will be held in Chicago (Soldier field).
  • After beating Boca Juniors 2-1 on the road, Toluca lost to Nacional 2-3 at home in the Copa Libertadores. Tijuana’s first game was a success, as they defeated Millonarios of Colombia 1-0 at home.
  • Mexico U-20 began their WCQ hopes by defeating Curaçao 3-0. Goals came from Corona (2) and Bueno. Mexico will face El Salvador on Saturday (2/23).
  • Jesús Corona helped his stock with Euro clubs thanks to his goals against Curaçao. He has been linked to clubs in Spain, Portugal, and rumored Manchester United.

  1. Too bad for Toluca since they have been doing a good job, Nacional was lucky… On the other hand, it was time for “Matador” Tejada to score! 14 matches not scoring was enough!

    1. It is a real bummer that Toluca couldn’t pull out a win. Their upset over Boca was amazing, but really doesn’t mean anything if they can’t take advantage of their home field. Hopefully Xolos can capitalize.
