Mexicans Abroad 1/19-1/20

Carlos Vela keeps up his performances and as the transfer window nears the rumors heat up!

Hector Moreno (Espanyol)– Moreno played all 90 minutes in the 3-2 win against Mallorca. A mistake on his part led to Dos Santos’ goal. Next: Real Zaragoza 1/26 La Liga

Javier Aguirre& Alfredo Tena(Espanyol)-Led Espanyol to a 3-2 win against Mallorca. Next: Real Zaragoza 1/26 La Liga

Andres Guardado (Valencia)– Guardado scored an own goal in the Copa del Rey clash against Real Madrid. Valencia lost the midweek match 2-0. They faced Real Madrid in La Liga and lost 5-0 with Guardado on the field all 90 minutes. Next: Real Madrid 1/23 Copa del Rey; Deportivo 1/26 La Liga

Jonathan Dos Santos (Barcelona )– Was not called for the 2-2 draw against Malaga in the Copa del Rey. He wasn’t called for the 3-2 loss to Real Sociedad. Next: Malaga 1/24 Copa de Rey; Osasuna 1/27 La Liga

Anibal Zurdo(Sabadell)– Did not play in the 4-1 win against Girona. Next: Villarreal 1/25

Ulises Davila(Sabadell)– Davila played all 90 minutes and provided an assist in the 4-1 win against Girona. Next: Villarreal 1/25

Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad)– Vela had an eventful 84 minutes in the 3-2 win against Barcelona. He provided an assist and provoked Pique’s second yellow that left Sociedad with a man advantage. Next: Celta Vigo 1/26 La Liga.

Giovani Dos Santos (Mallorca)– Dos Santos scored in the 35th minute in the 3-2 win against Espanyol. He also provided an assist, but it wasn’t enough to help his team win during his 90 minutes on the field. Next: Malaga 1/27 La Liga

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (Manchester United)– Chicharito played all 90 minutes and provided an assist in the 1-0 win against West Ham. He remained on the bench during the 1-1 draw against Tottenham. Next: Fulham 1/26 FA Cup

Guillermo Ochoa(Ajaccio)– Ochoa played all 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Valenciennes. Next: Evian 1/26 La Ligue.

Diego Reyes(America) will play with F.C. Porto starting with the 2013-2014 season. He’s signed a contract for 5 years.

Hector Herrera- Pachuca VP, Andres Fassi, confirmed that Herrera will join a Portuguese team in June. The terms have only been oral so far, and the team will be announced once things have become legal. Reports have placed him at Porto based on comments made by Pachuca president Jesus Martinez in December. Congratulations to another Olympic champ making his way to Europe!

Ochoa has been recently linked with a transfer to Liverpool. Victor Valdes will not renew his contract with Barcelona and many are linking Pepe Reina to the spot. That leaves the goal empty at Liverpool and the idea is that Ochoa will make a move.

Earlier in the week new Chivas manager Benjamin Galindo said that Marco Fabian would not be making a move to Europe during this transfer window. It seems that Chivas rejected offers for the player but he is still being strongly linked to German teams, especially Schalke 04.

Jürgen Damm, from Tecos, is being linked to a trial with Manchester United and Real Oviedo. He has a EU passport via his father. Oviedo is a Spanish Segunda club that had most of its shares recently bought by Mexican business man Carlos Slim.

  1. A move to Liverpool for Ochoa would be awesome for him and the national team. This move would surely make him el tri’s number 1 goalkeeper

    1. It would definitely be a great move because it’s great that there’s competition for the spots. I’m not sure if he’d be the automatic number 1. Chepo seems to really like Corona, but maybe a move to Liverpool would push him to take the spot for sure(especially with the WC so close)? Just to point out, he wouldn’t move during this transfer window.

  2. when are you guys (Andrea & Bryan) going to bring out a post or discussion about which players are going to play the gold cup or confederation cup and which coach is going direct the gold cup or confederation because that will be a good topic to talk about.

Which players do you guys think chepo will bring for the friendly game in 30th of January since it is not going to be a FIFA game??? that will be another good topic to talk about too

    1. Hi Leo,
I have posted a few articles on the Confed cup and Gold cup previously.

I think Chepo will call a lot of guys from the Olympic side for Denmark such as Fabian, Aquino, Herrera, as well as some other guys like Huiqui, Reyna, Ayala. I personally wouldn’t mind seeing Pulido and Peña also.

      1. Oh yeah those were great articles sorry about i totally forgot you brought those out
but here is my rosters fro gold cup confederations cup and the friendly vs Denmark

        Confederation Cup Roster

        GK: Ochoa

Def: Serevo Meza, Mier, Moreno, Torres NIlo

        MID: Chaton, Herrera

        CAM: GIO, Vela, Guardado

        ST: Chica

Subs: Fabian, Aquino, Reyes, Peralta, Carlos Pena, Jonathan, Ayala,
Francisco Rodriguez, Chuy Corona and Israel Jimenez

i would definitly come with a hard and fully strengthen squad to the confederation cup
since it is like a mini world cup preview.

        Gold Cup Roster

        GK: Sacuedo

        Def:Vidrio, Huqui, Araujo, Chavez

        MID: Salcido, Cabrera

        CAM: Javier Cortes, Davila, Candido

        ST: Sabah

Subs: Talavera, Ponce, Marquez, Hugo Rodriguez, Elias Hernandez, Andrade,
Molina, De Nigris, Raul Jimenez, Alan Pludio

        Game vs. Denmark

        GK: Corona

Def: Serevo Meza, Francisco Rodriguez, Hier, Torres Nilo

        MID: Chaton, Herrera

        CAM: Aquino, Fabian, Ponce

        ST: Peralta

Subs: Reyes, Ayala, Elias Hernandez, Molina, Israel Jimenez, Raul Jimenez
Rafael Marquez, Javier Cortes, Aldo De Nigris Carlos Pena, Luis Montes

this is really hard and difficult roster to bring especially for someone to left side on the attacking side
