Diego Reyes is officially a player of F.C. Porto.

The 20-year-old America defender was sold to the Portuguese club for an undisclosed amount.

Earlier in the month Reyes had said on his twitter account that he was not leaving America and would continue to play with the team during the Clausura 2013.

Reyes will get to follow through on his word. He will be on loan to America during the Clausura 2013 and will then join Porto during summer on a five year contract.

Reyes has been part of the 2011 PanAmericanos gold medal squad, the winner of the Toulon Tournament, and a gold medalist with the Mexican national team at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

  1. That’s awesome…… But what’s up with Mexicans signing out of the blue.
When Chicharo signed it was secret, same here. What gives?
(Congrats from a Chivas fan tho)

  2. Let’s hope this is the start of something big for all of Mexico’s young bloods. Maybe we’ll see more players make the jump to Europe.
