Mexicans Abroad 10/27-10/28

Check out the goals scored this week by some of the Mexicans abroad! And read what all the players have been up to in the past two weeks.


Hector Moreno (Espanyol) – Last week Moreno played all 90 minutes in the 3-2 win against Rayo. He received a full game in the 0-0 draw against Malaga. Next: Real Sociedad 11/4 La Liga

Andres Guardado (Valencia)– Guardado played 73 minutes in the 3-2 win against Athletic. He provided an assist during his 90 minutes against BATE in the Champions League. Guardado entered the 1-0 loss against Betis in the 84th minute. Next: Atletico 11/3 La Liga

Jonathan Dos Santos (Barcelona )– On the bench for the 5-4 win against Deportivo. On the bench for the 2-1 Champions League win against Celtic. Subbed in for Xavi in the 84th minute during the 5-0 win against Rayo. Next: Celta Vigo 11/3 La Liga

Anibal Zurdo(Sabadell)– Played all 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Cordoba. Next: Sporting 11/4

Ulises Davila(Sabadell)– Davila made his way on the field in the 64th minute and scored his team’s equalizer within five minutes for the 1-1 draw against Cordoba. Next:Sporting 11/4

Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad)– Vela played all 90 minutes in the 1-0 loss to Atletico. He played 68 minutes in the 2-2 draw against Valladolid. Edit: Provided an assist. Next: Espanyol 11/4 La Liga.

Giovani Dos Santos (Mallorca)– Dos Santos made his debut during the 3-2 loss to Sevilla; he played 60 minutes and provided two assists. He started and played 60 minutes during the 5-0 loss to Real Madrid. Next: Deportivo 11/4 La Liga


Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (Manchester United)– Hernandez played the last 12 minutes of the 4-2 win against Stoke. He played 80 minutes midweek and scored a brace in the 3-2 win against Braga. He made his way on to the field in the 65th minute and scored the winner for United in the 75th minute during the 3-2 win against Chelsea. Next: Chelsea 10/31 CC; Arsenal 11/3 Premier League

Guillermo Ochoa(Ajaccio)– Ochoa received all 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Bastia.Ochoa played all 90 minutes during the 4-4 draw against Lorient. Next: Marseille 11/4 La Ligue


Francisco ‘Maza’ Rodriguez (Stuttgart) – Maza played the last three minutes of the game during the 1-0 win against Hamburg. He remained on the bench during the 0-0 draw against Copenhagen in the Europa League. Maza played the last moments of the 2-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt. Next: St. Pauli 10/31 German Cup; Dortmund 11/3 Bundesliga


Edson Rivera(Braga B)– Back to training.


Jose Manuel Rivera(RoPS)– Team has already won the league.


Edson Rivera is rumored to be heading back to Mexico after a stint with Braga did not work out too well.

  1. Yeah. I can’t see the rumors either. Also, I thought Carlos Vela got an assist on the second goal today against Valladolid. Did they not count it?

    1. They are abroad but someone like Pardo probably won’t be returning to the national team. The idea of the Mexicans Abroad section is to follow those players that might have more of a possibility of playing for the national team.
