Mexicans Abroad 8/25-8/26

There were more injuries than goals this past weekend. Check out how the Mexicans abroad performed!


Hector Moreno (Espanyol) – Moreno started and played 60 minutes, but had to leave the field during the 2-1 loss to Real Zaragoza due to a strong crash. Next: 9/2 Levante La Liga

Andres Guardado (Valencia)– Guardado played 90 minutes during the 3-3 draw against Deportivo. Next: 9/2 Barcelona

Jonathan Dos Santos (Barcelona )– Dos Santos did not play against Real Madrid in the Super Cup and he was left out of the traveling squad for the 2-1 loss against Osasuna. Next: Real Madrid 4/29 SuperCup; Valencia 9/2 La Liga.

Anibal Zurdo(Sabadell)– Zurdo played all 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Villarreal. Next: 9/2 Barcelona

Ulises Davila(Sabadell)– Davila played all 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Villarreal and spurred many dangerous moments for the team. Next: 9/2 Barcelona

Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad)– Vela started and played 65 minutes in the 2-1 win against Celta Vigo. Next: Mallorca 9/1 La Liga.


Giovani Dos Santos (Tottenham)– Injured.

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (Manchester United)– ‘Chicharito’ made the bench for the 3-2 win against Fulham, but did enter the field. Next: Southampton 9/2 Premier League


Guillermo Ochoa(Ajaccio)– Ochoa left the field during the 62nd minute during the 3-0 loss to Valenciennes. Ochoa suffered a knee injury while trying to stop the opposition’s second goal.

Next: Evian 9/1 La Ligue


Francisco ‘Maza’ Rodriguez (Stuttgart) – Maza started and played all 90 minutes during Stuttgart’s 1-0 defeat to Wolfsburg. The defender scored a goal in the 23rd minute, but it was called offside. Next: Din Moscow 8/28 Europa League; Bayern 9/2 Bundesliga


Edson Rivera(Braga B)– Rivera started and played 78 minutes in the 0-0 draw against U. Madeira.


Jose Manuel Rivera(RoPS)– Rivera played 90 minutes and provided an assist during the 1-0 win against PK-35. The win also secured RoPS championship crown with a +19 point difference and six games to play. They will return to Finland’s first division for the upcoming season.


Rumors about Manchester United signing Hector Herrera increased during the week, but Sir Alex Ferguson announced that there would be no more signings during this transfer window.

Jonathan Dos Santos has also missed several of Barcelona’s games, increasing the rumors that Sevilla will be his place of play this season.

Javier Aquino continues to be linked with Udinese.

  2. Saw the highlights for Sabadell vs villarreal, Davila was real dangerous! The season just started and i can’t wait for him to get gel into the team more!
