Mexico’s U-23 Olympic squad and the Mexican league’s lastest addition, Leon, drew 1-1 in El Tri’s send-off to the summer games.

The U-23 squad played their last game on Mexican land before heading to Europe for a few more preparation games.
The score remained even at the break but finally changed minutes into the second half. Jesus Corona made a save in the 58th minute that led to a counterattack from the Mexican team. Aquino took the shot, but was unable to send it to the back of the net. Seconds later Othoniel Arce took advantage of a misplaced Corona to score in the 60th minute for Leon’s 1-0 lead.
Giovani Dos Santos was brought down in the 81st minute and called for a penalty but none was given.
Mexico equalized in the 88th minute with a goal from Aquino. The shot passed close to the post before rippling the back of the net.
