Mexico’s opponents at 2012 London Olympics

Mexico will face South Korea, Gabon and Switzerland at the 2012 London Olympics.

The Mexican U-23 team is head of Group B and will open group play against South Korea on July 26, 2012 at St. James’ Park in Newcastle.

The top two of the group move on to the next round.

Game schedule

July 26 Mexico v South Korea @ St. James’ Park

July 29 Mexico v Gabon @ City of Coventry Stadium

August 1 Mexico v Switzerland @ Millenium Stadium, Cardiff

Squads will be allowed to add three players over the age of 23 to their squads.

Although Mexican manager Luis Fernando Tena has yet to confirm if he will add the three over 23 year old players permitted, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said that Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez(24 at the time of the Olympics) will miss United’s preseason because of the Olympics.

  1. I wonder who the other two players are that Tena is going to take to the olympic. I know people being talking about Moreno. In my opinion Tena should take Corono or Ochoa.
