Mexicans Abroad 4/14-4/15

Vela couldn’t extend his scoring streak into the weekend, but Jonathan Dos Santos picked up where he left off with a goal of his own.


Pablo Barrera(Real Zaragoza)– Barrera did not make the squad for the 3-0 loss to Sevilla. Barrera was named to the squad, but was dropped before the game against Granada. Zaragoza won 1-0 and are in the relegation zone with 31 points. Next game: Mallorca 4/21

Hector Moreno (Espanyol) – Moreno played all 90 minutes in the 2-0 loss to Osasuna and he received a yellow card in the 90th minute. He played all 90 minutes in the 4-0 win against Valencia. Next game: 4/22 Atletico.

Taufic Guarch(Espanyol B)– Guarch did not play in the 3-1 win against Vilafranca.

Andres Guardado (Deportivo la Coruña)– Guardado played all 90 minutes in the 3-2 win over Deportivo. He gave an assist in the 61st minute. Next: Elche 4/22

Jonathan Dos Santos (Barcelona )– Dos Santos played 88 minutes during Barca B’s 1-1 draw against Girona. He scored a goal in the 66th minute. Next: Murcia 4/21

Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad) – Vela played all 90 minutes and scored a goal in the 56th minute during the 1-1 draw against Betis.

He couldn’t keep up with his scoring streak, but he played 70 minutes during the 1-1 draw against Malaga. Next: 4/22 Villarreal.

Anibal Zurdo(Guadalajara)– Zurdo played all 90 minutes in the 1-0 win against Alcoyano. Next: Gimnastic 4/21


Giovani Dos Santos (Tottenham)– Dos Santos was not called for the 1-2 loss to Norwich. He wasn’t called for the 5-1 loss to Chelsea in the FA Cup. Next: 4/21 QPR

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (Manchester United)– Hernandez started and played 58 minutes in the 1-0 loss to Wigan. He watched from the bench as United defeated Aston Villa 4-0. Next: 4/22 Everton.

Antonio Pedroza(Crystal Palace)– Pedroza was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw against Ipswich.


Guillermo Ochoa(Ajaccio)– Ochoa played all 90 minutes in the 4-1 loss to Lille. Ajaccio dropped in to the relegation zone with 33 points. Next: 4/22 Nancy.


Francisco ‘Maza’ Rodriguez (Stuttgart) – ‘Maza’ watched from the bench as Stuttgart defeated Augsburg 3-1. He stayed on the bench during the 4-1 win over Bremen. Next: 4/21 Cologne.


Efrain Juarez(Celtic)– Juarez was not called for the 2-1 loss to Hearts in the Scottish Cup. Next: 4/22 Motherwell.


Edson Rivera(Braga)– No activity this week. Next: 4/20 Fereirra


Nery Castillo (Aris)– Game suspended. Castillo is also a rumored signing for Chivas.


Ulises Davila(Vitesse)– Results pending.


Jose Manuel Rivera– RoPs lost 2-4, but counted with Rivera on the field for all 90 minutes.


Hector Herrera(Pachuca)-Rumors circulated this week about Liverpool’s interest in Herrera. Pachuca’s management said that the player would only go to Liverpool as a sale.

    1. Ya i know what you mean he is in 4th division of spain and doesnt even see any minutes. He is the one player that didnt impress me during th U-20 World Cup. He did score a screamer in one game though. I just believe Pulido, Rivera, Davila were better than him.
