Mexicans Abroad 4/7-4/8

Carlos Vela continued his scoring streak with two goals against fellow Mexican Hector Moreno. Check out the goals below, and read about the rest of the Mexicans Abroad!


Pablo Barrera(Real Zaragoza)– Barrera was called for 4-1 loss to Barcelona, but remained on the bench. Zaragoza currently sits in the relegation zone. Next game: 4/12 Sevilla.

Hector Moreno (Espanyol) – Moreno played all 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw against Real Sociedad. He also received a yellow card in the 87th minute. Next game: 4/10 Osasuna; 4/15 Valencia.

Taufic Guarch(Espanyol B)-Game pending.

Andres Guardado (Deportivo la Coruña)– Guardado started and played 77 minutes in the 3-1 win over Murcia. He provided an assit during the win. Next: 4/15 Celta

Jonathan Dos Santos (Barcelona )– Dos Santos played all 90 minutes in the 2-0 Barca B win against Cordoba. He received a yellow card in the 53rd minute. Next: 4/14 Girona

Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad) – Vela played 71 minutes during the 2-2 draw against Espanyol. He scored his team’s two goals in the 12th and 15th minutes. Next: 4/10 Betis; 4/15 Malaga.

Anibal Zurdo(Guadalajara)– Zurdo played 73 minutes during the 4-2 loss to Recreativo. Next: 4/14 Alcoyano


Giovani Dos Santos (Tottenham)– Dos Santos was not called for the 0-0 draw against Sunderland. Next: 4/9 Norwich; 4/15 Chelsea(FA Cup)

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (Manchester United)– Chicharito remained on the bench for the 2-0 win against QPR. Next: 4/11 Wigan; 4/15 Aston Villa.

Antonio Pedroza(Crystal Palace)– Pedroza was not called for the 3-1 loss to Birmingham. Next: 4/7 Birmingham


Guillermo Ochoa(Ajaccio)– Ochoa played all 90 minutes during the 1-1 draw against St. Etienne. Ajaccio currently sit one spot above relegation with 33 points. Next: 4/15 Lille.


Francisco ‘Maza’ Rodriguez (Stuttgart) – ‘Maza’ remained on the bench during a 4-1 win against Mainz. Next: 4/10 Augsburg; 4/13 Bremen.


Efrain Juarez(Celtic)– Celtic won the Scottish league, but Juarez was not called for the 6-0 win against Kilmarnock. Next: 4/15 Hearts.


Edson Rivera(Braga)– Rivera was not called for the 1-0 loss to Porto.


Nery Castillo (Aris)– Castillo returned to Aris’ starting line-up after recovering from injury. However, the game was suspended due to violence at the game.


Ulises Davila(Vitesse)– Davila played all 90 minutes earlier in the week against AGOVV in a 4-2 win.


Jose Manuel Rivera– Rivera scored midweek in the game against Oulu.

  1. Vela is seriously one of the Mexican players out! He needs to be called back to the national team! His goals r just too good!

    1. If Vela goes to the Mexican team he is going to put Hernandez on the bench and the media is not going to like it unless they change there formation. Hernandez is a good player but the media and some fans make it seem that Mexico is nothing without him.

      1. I completely agree with your comment. I think Vela is a bit more of a rounded player than Chicharito. As of late, watching the games with him and Man U, he really hasn’t impressed. Vela, 15 minutes into the Espanyol game had me already hooked! Yesterday, against Wigan, Chicharito was pretty ineffective. I think Vela would add a lot more to the team (As of right now) than Chicharito, but you are right… the media…

  2. Vela scored again today,that’s 10 goals in La Liga so far this year, 8 in the last 12 games. That’s an excellent strike rate.
